Panoramic Photography
Loosely speaking, a panoramic photograph is one that is notably wider than normal. According to Wikipedia, a panorama has as aspect ratio of 2:1 or wider. In contrast, ASPC and full format cameras have sensors with an aspect ratio of 3:2 or 1.5:1. To capture panoramas using these cameras, there are two main methods. First, one can crop a photo to a panoramic ratio. Second, one can stiitch two or more photos together on the computer. Stitching is a standard feature on Lightroom, Photoshop, Capture One and similar photo-editing apps.
Here are some examples of my panoramas, both cropped and stitched.
